Somehow it seems easy to acquire land in Colorado if you know your ropes, as a case in Boulder/CO shows where a couple used the rarely-invoked adverse possession law to get their neighbours’ plot, or at least part of it. They simply used it illegally for planting, stacking firewood and even parties for quite a few years and then claimed it as their own under what used to be called “squatters’ rights”.
